It was a fun and interesting read. The focus is on Daniel and Charlie’s relationship and whether they can overcome their past struggles in order to have a happy future together. But this book is much than just a slow-burn love story. I particularly enjoyed how Charlie gains self-assurance and how Daniel waits patiently for her to be ready. In addition to this, we also have the enigma surrounding Keirra’s stalker.
The scars of Charlie Ravenel’s past are still visible. She hasn’t been able to trust a man in six years. She hesitates to take the position protecting fifteen-year-old Kierra when it is offered to her, but her desire to keep the little girl safe overcomes her hesitation. She didn’t anticipate how she would feel when she met Daniel Pierce, though.
The movie star is dubbed “the sexiest man alive,” but success comes with a price, as he struggles with drinking and his adoring female followers. The narrative is full with gorgeous, evocative lines like “your body is beautiful, to perform and perfect.” In order to defend and protect, I have a wound. Despite the fact that they had quite diverse life experiences, they had unmistakable sexual chemistry.
As his ship sank, he continued reaching for her like a life jacket. I thought this analogy was great for showing how anxious Daniel was to claim Charlie as his own. The reader may picture a lovely future for Daniel and Charlie at the moment they put the young girl to bed because it is a tenderly described scene. Sadly, after spending all that effort removing Charlie’s boundaries, Daniel’s adultery shatters that fantasy in an instant.
I enjoyed Charlie’s inner monologue since it revealed what was going through her mind. It’s a fantastic idea to have a Spotify music to go along with the chapters. It is obvious that the author has a gift for creating sexual scenarios. I will without a doubt suggest “Pierce Her“, and I can’t wait to read the following installment in the series.
