When an author develops a world in a series where several characters’ stories are told over the course of several volumes, I truly like it. The band Brotherhood serves as a unifying theme throughout the works in this series. I adore reading a variety of tales and storylines across the series in a chronological order.
Lei and Felix’s opposing points of view in this book are also incredibly enjoyable to read. When an author develops a world in a series where several characters’ stories are told over the course of several volumes, I truly like it.
Please Fall for Me, like book one of the series, has two central characters with emotionally engaging backstories that will captivate you. Before they meet, Lei and Felix each lead complicated personal lives apart from one another. I adore learning the tiniest information about each person’s background and character.
The author is able to draw attention to numerous infrequent little glances into the personal lives of the individuals that one would miss in real life. As a reader, these subtly compelling details in the scene, language, and actions make you feel as though you’ve been invited to observe something intimate and amazing happening between and within Lei and Felix.
I was completely absorbed in each scene as I read since each one is expertly written and uses all the senses. The specifics of music, musicianship, and addiction struck me as being so true. I related to the characters, and I supported them.
The friendship turned into a beautiful love story. Brotherhood is so morally upright and kind to its members. Rob and Lei from the band interacted with their roommates in the most adorable ways. There aren’t as much specifics or day-to-day insights into Lei’s time in courses or as a student.
So I frequently forgot that he was a college student while everything else is happening. In general, this book has lovely storyline and lovely language. You will adore this novel if you enjoy clean, healthy romances. I’m eager to read the next part in this series and every other book written book by M.W. McKinley.
About The Book
Lei wants the one thing he already has which is to be the bassist for Brotherhood, a small indie-rock band from Oxford, England. When the band relocates to New York City without a drummer or a fanbase, Lei’s worried they made a huge mistake, especially now that he’s an ocean away from his grandmother as she battles a life-threatening heart condition.
Felix wants the one thing he can’t have which is to play drums for Brotherhood. When he offers to help the band find a different drummer instead, he quickly discovers he has chemistry with Lei on and off the stage. However, Felix can’t stand the thought of disappointing another person he loves. Will Brotherhood survive the Big Apple? And will Lei and Felix realize what everyone else knows, that they’re perfect for each other?
“Please Fall for Me” features a sweet M/M love story between a British-born Chinese bassist who loves graffiti and an American drummer who helps his niece decorate drumsticks with glitter. There’s a band manager who loves Taylor Swift, more guitar picks, and an epic battle of the bands! It’s the second book in The Brotherhood Series but can be read as a stand-alone.
The Review
Please Fall for Me
Oh my goodness. This story was amazing. In fact I think it was better than the first book in the series. I just felt the story was a little more deeper and more emotional than the first book. The love story was beautiful. The family dynamics were very crucial to the growth of the main characters. However, there was backstories with the other characters as well and set up for the next book in the series which I am looking forward to. I highly recommend this book. It had me emotional with some ups and downs like a good book should.
