Superposition is a really readable book, so do not be put off by the description “quantum physics thriller” or the fact that it was written by an engineer. Brian said, “I don’t know why you left.” No one does, You earned your PhD at Princeton. You’re a well-known physicist at the top of your game, possibly the next Wheeler.
How could you sacrifice that for..?” He made vague hand motions in the kitchen. I explained, “I’m a physics professor at Swarthmore College. “I adore that place. Kids I have are intelligent. Additionally, there are no politics, arguments over experiment times, or demands that I justify my work to others in order to continue doing it.
People can identify with Jacob Kelly because he possesses information that few others possess, but because he acquired it the hard way, he is still grounded and will go to any lengths to protect his friends and family. Walton surrounds Jacob with an engaging and “real world” supporting cast. Superposition includes thrilling courtroom battles and police chases equally as much as it does scientific labs, if not more.
Along with a smart premise, complex planning, and a gripping dual narrative structure, I was especially impressed by Walton’s skill at communicating complex scientific ideas through his characters. Superposition doesn’t require any prior knowledge of physics to be captivating, but at the end I felt both tremendously entertained and well-informed.
Although this thriller features members of a scientific elite that most people will never meet, the mystery at its core is profoundly human and emphasises our similarities rather than our differences. Superposition by David Walton is a powerful blend of science, action, suspense, and emotion. I can’t wait to start reading David Walton’s upcoming book, which will be released in September 2015.
About The Book
The arrival of an old buddy brandishing a gun and blathering about an extraterrestrial quantum intelligence upends Jacob Kelley’s family. When the friend is discovered dead in an underground bunker, it appears that he was murdered the same night that he showed up to Jacob’s house, furthering the mystery. For the murder, Jacob is detained and placed on trial.
A remarkable new technology and a quantum creature free of the usual restrictions of space and matter warp the weave of reality as the specifics of the murder slowly come to light. Jacob must track out the real killer with the aid of his daughter Alessandra before the monster annihilates his loved ones and everything he holds dear.

Ryan Oronzi is a paranoid, neurotic, and brilliant physicist who has developed a quantum military technology that could make soldiers nearly invincible in the field. The technology, however, gives power to the quantum creature known as the varcolac, which slowly begins to manipulate Dr. Oronzi and take over his mind. Oronzi eventually becomes the unwilling pawn of the varcolac in its bid to control the world.
