The protagonist of No Paradise for Eden is Eden Ray, a woman with various talents, many of them lethal. Eden is compelled to identify the person who was attempting to target her clients after a body-guarding assignment goes wrong. But it seems like every riddle she solves opens the door to another, each one more perilous than the last.
What actually is happening on Eastman Island? Will Eden be able to unravel the riddle in time to prevent harm from coming to the people she loves about? I’d give this book a score of 5 out of 5. Riley Joyce crafted a great tale that featured equal parts adventure, romance, and mystery despite the rare grammatical error and the overuse of the word “then” in consecutive passages.
Eden had an incredibly well-rounded personality, and her love tales are just as captivating as her heroic victories over villains. During the entire novel, Joyce’s writing had me on the edge of my seat, and I would be eager to read a sequel. I would advise restricting readers to mature adult audiences because this book does contain some mature language and topics.
Yet, I believe that Joyce’s writing style would be appealing to both men and women. This book would appeal to anyone who enjoys action and crime-fighting stories because each of the characters has a fighting history of some kind. While it becomes evident early on that there is a network of sex slave traders haunting Eastman Island.
I would include a trigger warning if anyone has experienced sexual trauma. Other than that, I think anyone who takes up this book will be able to enjoy it. I already mentioned how much I enjoyed reading this book and how eagerly I am looking forward to where Eden’s narrative will lead her next.

The Review
No Paradise for Eden
This novel is extremely well written with a typical genre plot that you should expect given the throw-back time period and style. I loved that Eden Ray is a strong female who gives as good as she gets. Her wit and quick thinking only add to her three-dimensional character. The action is set in the Caribbean and the author does a very good job of describing the everything making it very easy to visualize. Excellent pace that keeps your interest and pages turning quickly. Read this in one sitting. Anyone who loves fast paced thrillers with strong females will enjoy this!
